Analytics Organizations
American Statistical Association (ASA)*
ASA has been around since 1839, so it has a long track record—it’s the biggest community of statisticians & analytics professionals in the world. ASA publishes a large number of academic journals and runs many data-related conferences, including:
- Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM)
- Women in Statistics & Data Science (WSDS)
- Symposium on Data Science & Statistics

Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)*
ACM bills itself as the world’s largest computing society, with more than 100,000+ members and 38 Special Interest Groups (SIGs), including groups that focus on data mining, AI, bioinformatics, data management, and more. All of these SIGs sponsor conferences, workshops, and symposia in multiple countries—you can choose a conference that suits your field of interest. Consider the:
- ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM)
- ACM SIGKDD Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining

Association of Data Scientists (ADaSCI)
ADaSCI is a global association of data scientists & Machine Learning (ML) professionals. It publishes Lattice, an international peer-reviewed journal on machine learning, and offers the Chartered Data Scientist (CDS) credential. Association for Information Systems (AIS)
AIS is made up of individuals and organizations who are devoted to excellence in the practice & study of information systems. It publishes multiple journals on information systems as well as proceedings from all its conferences. And it’s spread across the globe. You can choose to attend the:

DGPO is an organization of members who concerned with data governance policies & best practices. It endorses the Data Governance and Information Quality Conference.
Institute of Analytics (IoA)
IoA is a UK-based organization with a membership of analytics and data science professionals around the world. It organizes webinars & networking opportunities and offers accreditation to universities, colleges, higher education partners, and private training providers who offer programs and courses in data science & analytics.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)*
IEEE is a massive technical professional organization—it has 409,000+ members in more than 160 countries. It publishes scores of journals & publications and sponsors over 2,000 annual conferences and events worldwide, including the:

Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS)*
INFORMS is one of the best organizations in the fields of Operations Research (OR) and analytics. It publishes 17 peer-reviewed journals, bi-monthly magazines, and its own books & research series. It gives out institute-wide prizes and awards and student scholarships. It offers the highly-regarded Certified Analytics Professional (CAP®) certification. And it runs a number of analytics conferences, including:

Business Analysis Organizations
Association of Business Process Management Professionals International (ABPMP International)
ABPMP International is a professional organization dedicated to the field of Business Process Management (BPM). It has 56 global chapters and 17,000+ members representing more than 750 corporations. It offers a range of BPM certifications & training resources and it hosts a Career Center. Sample job postings include: Management Analyst, Process Engineer, Business Product Analyst, IT Business Process Analyst, and the like.
British Computer Society (BCS)
BCS is a well-known organization of IT & digital professionals, including business leaders, educators, practitioners and policy-makers. It has 60,000+ members in 150 countries. It offers a variety of certifications for IT professionals and supplies a lot of thoughtful advice to early careerists.
International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)*
IIBA is one of the biggest players in the world of Business Analysis (BA)—its industry certifications (e.g. CCBA, ECBA, etc.) are widely recognized by employers. It has chapters in cities around the globe, many of which organize their own networking events. In the IIBA Career Center, you’ll find openings for jobs such as Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, and more.
Project Management Institute (PMI)*
PMI is an international organization devoted to project management. It has almost 700,000 members and over 300 local chapters. Like IIBA, it offers a number of well-known industry certifications, including credentials in Business Analysis, Agile, and Risk Management. It hosts an Annual Global Summit and publishes its own guides & standards.
