Analytics Degree Programs in Washington, DC

Analytics education in Washington DC is often geared toward the working professional. With the notable exception of GWU, many of the analytics programs in our DC listings are online master’s degrees or graduate certificates. Georgetown, GW, and American may be the most recognizable names—they all offer STEM-designated programs—but you have other choices! Keep in mind that the University of the Potomac is a for-profit institution.

Research & Career-Building

Ask about attending workshops & networking events at GW Data and have a look at all the projects going on within Georgetown’s Massive Data Institute (MDI), which focuses on using big data to improve public policy decision-making. At the Georgetown University Medical Center, you’ll also find the Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI), which explores the intersection of data science, clinical informatics, and health IT.

Networking Opportunities

Big names in analytics frequently visit DC for their conferences (e.g. IEEE, SIGKDD, DGIQ, etc.) and Amazon hosts an annual AWS Summit Washington, DC. Government nerds could also consider the R Conference: Government & Public Sector at Georgetown, the Government Analytics Breakfast (GAB) Forum at Johns Hopkins, and the Data Driven Government conference, which is run by Predictive Analytics World (PAW) and focuses on AI & data analytics.
